Brașov Days (*Zilele Brașovului*) 2027 is expected from **Friday 7 to Sunday 9 May 2027**: the weekend after Orthodox Easter, which falls on 2 May in 2027. It is the city's own festival, with three days of free concerts and fairs in **Piața Sfatului**, and it ends on Sunday with the **Junii parade**, when seven groups of riders from Șchei come down into the Old Town. The 2026 edition ran from 17 to 19 April. In 2026, City Hall published the programme ten days before the festival.

## Dates

Brașov Days are not tied to a fixed date. City Hall's deputy mayor put it simply in 2026: the festival happens right after Easter, on the following weekend ([Brașov City Hall, 7 April 2026](https://evenimente.brasovcity.ro/noutati-pe-larg/36046/Fii_parte_din_traditie)). Because Orthodox Easter moves between early April and early May, so does the festival.

The Sunday of the festival is always *Duminica Tomii* (Thomas Sunday), the day of the Junii parade. Our [Junii parade guide](https://wowbrasov.com/en/customs-and-traditions-from-the-brasov-area-the-junii-celebration) has the route, the timings and where to stand. ## What happens, day by day

The festival is organised by the Apollonia Cultural Centre, with the Reduta Cultural Centre and the Students' Culture House, and supported by City Hall. In 2026 the city noted that the budget was smaller than the year before ([City Hall](https://evenimente.brasovcity.ro/noutati-pe-larg/36046/Fii_parte_din_traditie)). The pattern stays the same each year: pop and rock on Friday and Saturday, tradition and folk music on Sunday.

This was the 2026 programme ([Zile și Nopți](https://zilesinopti.ro/evenimente/zilele-brasovului-2026/); [City Hall](https://evenimente.brasovcity.ro/noutati-pe-larg/36046/Fii_parte_din_traditie)):

| Day | Time | What | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Friday 17 April | daytime | The young Junii's *Aruncatul în țol* custom | Piața Unirii, Șchei |
| | 17:30 / 18:00 | CIMERA Band, then The Citybreakers | Piața Sfatului |
| | 19:00 | SymPhoenix with the Brașov Philharmonic | Piața Sfatului |
| Saturday 18 April | 15:30 / 17:00 | DJ Altoo, DJ Mose N | Piața Sfatului |
| | 18:15 / 18:30 | Carla Star, Larisa XO | Piața Sfatului |
| | 19:00 | Vunk (headliner) | Piața Sfatului |
| Sunday 19 April | 11:00 | The Junii parade sets off; it reaches Pietrele lui Solomon at about 13:00 | Piața Unirii → Old Town → Pietrele lui Solomon |
| | 13:00–16:00 | Folk concert: student and ethnic-community ensembles, Robert Târnăveanu, Mariana Anghel, with Paula Hriscu last | Piața Sfatului |
| | afternoon | Country party "Între Chetri", with mace-throwing, the Hora of the Junii and live folk music | Pietrele lui Solomon |

The Junii's Easter week starts earlier. On Easter Monday the young Junii go out on the *Strochit* (sprinkling) round, followed by "Pie Tuesday" (*Marțea cu plăcinte*). Those are community customs rather than staged shows, and City Hall does not publish times for them.

The 2025 edition followed the same shape. Friday opened with "Terranova", a show with the actor Maia Morgenstern, the musician Ovidiu Lipan Țăndărică and the Brașov Philharmonic. Saturday's headliner was the rock band Bosquito, and on Sunday Dinu-Iancu Sălăjanu topped the folk concert after the parade ([G4Media, 25 April 2025](https://www.g4media.ro/zilele-brasovului-la-acest-sfarsit-de-saptamana-duminica-are-loc-parada-junilor-programul-complet-al-evenimentelor-din-weekend.html)).

*The Junii parade on Sunday is the high point of Brașov Days.*

## The fairs

- **Piața Sfatului, Wednesday to Sunday.** In 2026 the "Brașov Days fair" ran from 15 to 19 April, **11:00–21:00**. It is run by the city's market service and sells crafts, handmade goods, souvenirs, jewellery and local food products, with some sections reserved for local producers ([Piețe Publice Brașov](https://www.pietepublice.ro/targul-de-zilele-brasovului-organizat-in-piata-sfatului-brasov-in-perioada-15-19-aprilie-2026)).
- **Pietrele lui Solomon, Sunday.** The Junii fair ran 10:00–20:00 on 19 April 2026, with grills and food trucks selling *plăcinte* (pies), *langoși* (fried dough), doughnuts, kürtőskalács and plum dumplings, plus beer, cider and soft drinks. Spirits are banned in the fair area ([Piețe Publice Brașov](https://www.pietepublice.ro/targul-de-junii-brasovului-organizat-in-data-de-19-aprilie-2026-la-pietrele-lui-solomon)).

In 2025 there was also a crafts fair on the promenade of Nicolae Titulescu Park ([G4Media](https://www.g4media.ro/zilele-brasovului-la-acest-sfarsit-de-saptamana-duminica-are-loc-parada-junilor-programul-complet-al-evenimentelor-din-weekend.html)).

## Prices

Everything in the programme is **free**: the concerts, the fairs and the parade all take place in public squares and streets. You only pay for food, drink and anything you buy at the stalls.

## Getting there, traffic and parking

**On foot.** Piața Sfatului is the centre of the Old Town, and Pietrele lui Solomon is at the top of Șchei, below the forest. Piața Unirii, where the parade starts, is a short walk from Piața Sfatului through Poarta Șchei.

**By bus.** A single RATBV ticket costs 5 lei and lasts 90 minutes; a day pass costs 20 lei ([RATBV fares](https://ratbv.ro/tarife-trasee-urbane-si-metropolitane/)). For the concerts, get off at Livada Poștei or Primărie. On parade Sunday in 2026, City Hall and RATBV doubled the service on 13 lines (1, 2, 2B, 4, 6, 16, 17, 24, 28, 31, 34, 36 and 41) between 09:00 and 18:00: 60 buses and trolleybuses instead of the usual 30. While the parade was on Bd. Eroilor, from about 10:45 to 13:00, buses turned on Str. Vlad Țepeș and used a temporary stop at the end of that street, by the Drama Theatre ([City Hall, 2026](https://evenimente.brasovcity.ro/noutati-pe-larg/36087/Vino_cu_transportul_in_comun)). Our [guide to getting around Brașov](https://wowbrasov.com/en/transportation-in-brasov-how-to-get-around-the-city-and-its-surroundings) explains tickets and the apps.

*On parade Sunday the city asks visitors to come by bus: in 2026 it doubled the service on 13 lines.*

**By car, on Friday and Saturday.** Central parking is paid and fills up quickly on a festival weekend. The car parks closest to Piața Sfatului are on Bd. Eroilor, Str. Castelului, Aleea Tiberiu Brediceanu and at Livada Poștei. Under the current rules you pay 08:00–20:00 and Sundays are free, but City Hall is consulting on higher central rates and paid Sundays, so check the signs ([City Hall, 18 September 2026](https://www.brasovcity.ro/detalii-articol/general/principiul-noului-regulament-de-parcare-reducerea-traficului-din-centrul-istoric-si-din-celelalte-zone-aglomerate/Mzc0Njg)).

**By car, on Sunday: don't.** In 2026 the parade route was closed from the morning, cars parked on it had to be moved by 06:00 or were towed, and the restrictions lasted until 18:00. From 07:30 there was no car access from Piața Unirii up to Pietrele lui Solomon all day, and most car parks between City Hall, Parcul Eroilor, Livada Poștei and Casa Armatei were closed to the public ([City Hall, 2026](https://evenimente.brasovcity.ro/noutati-pe-larg/36076/Junii_se_pregatesc_sa_coboare_in_cetate)). If you arrive by car, leave it at your accommodation or outside the centre and take the bus.

## Where to stay

Everything happens in the Old Town and Șchei, so a room within walking distance of Piața Sfatului means you can stay for the evening concerts without worrying about buses or parking. The festival weekend comes straight after the Easter holiday, one of Brașov's busiest times ([our weather and seasons guide](https://wowbrasov.com/en/the-weather-and-seasons-in-brasov) lists the peak weekends), so book early.

## Tips

- **Pick your day.** Friday and Saturday evenings are for the concerts. Sunday is the day to come for: the Junii parade in the morning, folk music in the square and the picnic at Pietrele lui Solomon in the afternoon.
- **Be in Piața Unirii before 11:00 on Sunday** to see the groups gather with their horses. The [Junii guide](https://wowbrasov.com/en/customs-and-traditions-from-the-brasov-area-the-junii-celebration) lists the best places along the route.
- **Dress for an April or May evening.** Average highs are 16°C in April and 20°C in May, with lows of 3°C and 8°C ([our climate table](https://wowbrasov.com/en/the-weather-and-seasons-in-brasov)). The concerts are outdoors and it gets cold after sunset.
- **Walk up to Pietrele lui Solomon** rather than looking for a bus: the road from Piața Unirii is closed on Sunday. The area is also one of our [favourite walks in Brașov](https://wowbrasov.com/en/6-ideal-places-for-taking-a-walk-in-brasov).
- **Bring cash** for the fair stalls, in case some don't take cards.

## Is it worth it?

Yes, if you can be in Brașov that weekend, mainly for Sunday. The Junii parade is a living local tradition, unique to Brașov, and tens of thousands of people line the route, according to [City Hall](https://evenimente.brasovcity.ro/noutati-pe-larg/36124/Junii_Brasovului_au_coborat_in_Cetate). The Friday and Saturday concerts are free and pleasant, but they feature well-known Romanian pop and rock acts rather than anything you couldn't see elsewhere, so they are not worth a special trip on their own. Skip the Sunday if you dislike crowds, or watch the parade from one of the wider streets.

## FAQ

### When is Zilele Brașovului 2027?

It is expected from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 May 2027, the weekend after Orthodox Easter (2 May 2027). The Junii parade should be on Sunday 9 May. City Hall has not announced the programme yet.

### Is Brașov Days free?

Yes. The concerts in Piața Sfatului, the fairs and the parade are all free and open to everyone.

### Is the festival tied to the founding of Brașov?

No. City Hall ties it to Easter and the Junii, not to an anniversary. The town's first known written mention, as Corona, dates from 1235; our [guide to the city of Brașov](https://wowbrasov.com/en/the-city-of-brasov) has the history.

### What is the difference between Brașov Days and the Junii?

The Junii are seven societies of men from Șchei and Brașovul Vechi who keep the old Easter customs. Their parade on Thomas Sunday is the oldest part of the weekend. Brașov Days is the city festival built around it, with the concerts and fairs on the days before.

### Can I drive into the centre on parade day?

No. The route and Pietrele lui Solomon are closed to cars from the morning until about 18:00, and most central car parks are closed too. Use the bus or walk.

### Where can I see the full programme?

On the City Hall events site, [evenimente.brasovcity.ro](https://evenimente.brasovcity.ro/noutati/), in 2026 about ten days before the festival.
