Public restrooms play a pivotal role in the development of a city like Brașov, bringing a series of essential benefits to the community. The significance of these facilities is reflected not only in the comfort and well-being of the residents, but also in the city's appeal to tourists. In the following, I will introduce the types of public restrooms available in Brașov and their locations.
Fully Automated Smart Toilets
The new toilets are equipped with touch-free buttons, hand dryers, soap, soap dispensers, running water, and paper dispensers, features that are particularly useful for individuals with disabilities.
The anti-vandal stainless steel toilet bowl is outfitted with a perimeter sensor designed to prevent incidents and ensure user safety, including those using wheelchairs.
Currently, there are 6 such functional toilets in Brașov, located in Piața Sf. Ioan, on Pietonalul Uranus, in Parcul Trandafirilor, Parcul Tractorul, Livada Poștei, and Scuarul Berzei. By the end of the year, another 8 toilets will be installed in other areas of Brașov. At this moment, access to these toilets is free of charge.
Classic Public Restrooms
These restrooms are vintage structures with a classic style, but most have been modernized, featuring an automatic payment kiosk at the entrance. The entrance fee is 2 lei, and payments can be made using 1 or 5 lei bills, by card, or with 50 bani coins.
Such toilets can be found in Astra Square, at the Central Train Station in Brașov, in the historic center, in the Central Park, as well as on the alley under Tâmpa, close to the cable car.
Public Toilets in Malls and Hypermarkets
These restrooms are strategically located in various areas of malls and hypermarkets, making them easily accessible to all users. They are constantly maintained by specialized personnel, ensuring that they are always clean and equipped with all basic necessities such as toilet paper, soap, and hand dryers. Malls that offer such facilities include AFI Mall Brașov and Coresi Mall Brașov, and similar amenities are also found in hypermarkets like Carrefour and Kaufland.
In conclusion, no matter where you find yourself in Brașov, there is always a nearby public toilet, free or fee-based, contributing to the comfort of residents and the city's tourist appeal.
