Great news for residents of Brașov looking to travel! Wizz Air is significantly expanding its flight offerings from the Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport, adding several new destinations in Italy, Germany, and Poland. This expansion provides more convenient travel options for both leisure and business.

According to a report by Radio Brașov FM, the Hungarian airline is committed to growing its presence at the airport, connecting Brașov to more of Europe.

New Italian Destinations

Italy is now more accessible than ever, with Wizz Air launching routes to three popular cities. As of this week, the airline operates three weekly flights to Naples.

Furthermore, two more Italian destinations are on the schedule. Flights to Milan began on October 28th, and services to Rome are set to launch on January 27, 2026. Both the Milan and Rome routes will operate three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Flights to Germany and Poland

The expansion also includes new connections to Germany and Poland. Since October, Wizz Air has been operating flights to Memmingen and Nuremberg in Germany.

Looking ahead, travelers will be able to fly to Katowice, Poland, starting from March 31, 2026, further broadening the travel horizons from Brașov.

A Growing Hub for Travelers

These new routes add to Wizz Air's existing destinations from Brașov, which include London, Dortmund, and Budapest. The continuous growth of the airport's network is a positive sign for the region.

Daniel Micu, President of the Board of Directors at Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport, expressed his optimism: "We are the third airport in Romania to facilitate a connection with Naples. We have much to visit, but we also have much to offer, meaning we await them on vacation in Brașov as well. In October, we will have three more new destinations: Nuremberg, Memmingen, and Milan. And as we promised the people of Brașov and the surrounding area who use Brașov Airport, we will grow, we will grow healthily, and we will have access to as many destinations as possible in the next period."
