The Black Church is a symbol of Brasov city, located in the historic center and visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists annually. Constructed between 1383 and 1477, this Gothic-style church measures almost 90 meters in length and has a tower height of 65 meters at the cross. It also houses the largest mobile bell in Romania, which weighs 6 tons.
The church acquired its name following a major fire that engulfed it in 1689, leaving only a blackened ruin behind.
