What to wear in Brașov, by temperature
These are the rules the forecast's outfit uses, based on how warm it feels (wind and humidity included), not just the thermometer.
- 25°+ T-shirt, shorts, sandals; sunglasses and water. The Old Town cobbles get hot in July and August.
- 18–25° T-shirt, light trousers, trainers; a light layer for the evening, which cools quickly at the foot of Tâmpa.
- 12–18° Sweater and a light jacket, trousers, closed shoes. Typical for spring and autumn days.
- 5–12° A proper coat over a sweater, trousers, boots or sturdy shoes.
- −5–5° Winter jacket, hat, scarf and gloves, warm boots.
- below −5° Thermal layers under a warm jacket, and cover your face and hands.
Questions about the Brașov forecast
How far ahead is the forecast reliable?
The next two or three days are the most reliable. After about a week, read the forecast as a trend rather than exact figures; for dates beyond 16 days, the monthly averages above are a better guide.
Is Poiana Brașov colder than the city?
Usually, by several degrees: the resort is about 400 m higher, and the top of the ski area higher still. On calm, clear winter mornings it can be the other way round, when cold air settles in the Brașov basin and the city is colder than the slopes.
Where does this forecast come from?
From Open-Meteo, a free weather service that combines the models of national weather services, such as Germany's DWD and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). The page loads the latest forecast each time you open it, and all times are Romanian time.
