Via Bucharest
If there’s no direct flight on your dates, fly to Bucharest, which has far more flights from Spain. In the week of 12–18 October 2026, the Bucharest Airports flight list showed direct flights to Henri Coandă airport (Otopeni, OTP) from Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Málaga, Alicante, Palma de Mallorca, Seville, Zaragoza, Castellón, Santander, Las Palmas and Tenerife South, with Wizz Air, Ryanair, TAROM, Vueling, HiSky and FlyOne. Ryanair also flew Girona to Băneasa (BBU), Bucharest’s smaller airport in the north of the city. Those were summer-schedule flights; check the winter timetable, which starts on 25 October.
From Bucharest, the train is the easiest way on to Brașov:
- From Otopeni: CFR’s airport train runs 24 times a day from the Aeroport Henri Coandă station to București Nord (Gara de Nord) and takes 25 minutes. Change there to one of about 20 direct trains a day to Brașov; take an InterRegio (IR) or InterCity (IC) train, the fastest of which take 2 h 15 min. A second-class InterRegio ticket from Gara de Nord costs 75 lei. The CFR journey planner sells the airport-to-Brașov journey as one ticket: on the day we checked, the 06:32 airport train with IC 535 cost 87.26 lei and reached Brașov at 09:36.
- From Băneasa: there is no train from this airport. Take a Bolt or Uber to Gara de Nord, about 9 km by road (14 minutes without traffic, according to OpenStreetMap routing), and catch the train there.
- Landing late or with a lot of luggage: minibuses leave Otopeni Arrivals for Brașov until late evening.
Timetables, fares and the minibus operators are in our Bucharest to Brașov guide.
Other airports: Sibiu and Cluj
