The music: the 2026 line-up

The festival leans towards contemporary blues, with jazz, soul and gospel around it, and usually brings several American blues artists each year. The 2026 main-stage programme (official site):

Evening18:3020:30
Friday 14 AugustA-C Leonte (RO), launching NOW to NOW, billed as Romania’s first spoken-word jazz albumJaniva Magness (US), winner of seven Blues Music Awards, in her first concert in Romania

Sunday 16 AugustCharlotte Colace (FR/DE/CU), a Berlin-based neo-soul singerAlfredo Rodríguez Trio (CU), the Grammy-nominated Cuban jazz pianist

At Juno Wine Garden, Dalma, the duo Berti Barbera & Nicu Patoi, and Corina Sîrghi with the Toma Dimitriu Group played one evening each. On Sunday afternoon, Sharrie Williams sang gospel in Bod with the Sepsi Gospel Band and the Lars Kutschke Band.

Earlier main-stage names give an idea of the style: Curtis Salgado, Zac Harmon and Sari Schorr in 2025; King King, Monster Mike Welch and Sugar Ray & The Bluetones in 2024; Tommy Castro & The Painkillers in 2023; and Jan Akkerman, John Nemeth and Kirk Fletcher in 2022 (Fanzin, festival history).

Tickets and prices

  • 2027 early-bird pass: 350 lei for all three evenings on the main stage, on sale at biletebrasov.ro when we checked on 10 October 2026. The number is limited.
  • What 2026 cost: passes were sold in three tiers, at 350, 400 and 500 lei, and all of them sold out; day tickets in presale cost 200 lei (biletebrasov.ro, 2026). If 2027 follows the same pattern, the price will go up each time a tier sells out.
  • The rest of the festival: Juno 30–50 lei at the gate, jam sessions 75 lei a night, the gospel concert in Bod 125 lei, and the events at Coresi and WaldKafe free (see the table above).

As a rough guide, 100 lei is about €20. Tickets are sold online by the organiser at fanzin.ro and at biletebrasov.ro. In 2026 the organiser said the festival had run without grants from City Hall or the County Council, paid for by ticket buyers and sponsors (Zile și Nopți).

Getting there

Old Town venues. Piața Sfântul Ioan, Juno (on Str. După Ziduri, along the old walls) and O’Peter’s (on Str. Republicii) are all in the Old Town, close to Piața Sfatului, so walk. From the train station or further out, take the bus to the centre: a single RATBV ticket costs 5 lei and is valid for 90 minutes (RATBV fares). Our guide to getting around Brașov covers the lines and how to pay.

The gospel concert in Bod. Bod is a village about 25 minutes’ drive from Brașov. The festival’s own directions (official site):

  • Bus: RATBV line 420, Brașov (Rulmentul) – Sânpetru – Bod Sat. A Brașov–Bod ticket costs 7 lei (RATBV fares).
  • Train: Brașov – Stupini – Bod; check times on the CFR timetable.
  • Car: via the DN13/E60 and the DJ112A, about 25 minutes.

Flying in. Brașov-Ghimbav airport has direct flights from several European cities; see our Brașov airport guide.

Where to stay and getting back at night

Stay in or near the Old Town. The main-stage concerts end in the late evening and the jam sessions go on into the night, so being able to walk back matters more than anything else. Mid-August is high season, and 15 August is a public holiday in Romania, which makes the festival weekend one of the busiest of the summer (our weather and seasons guide). Book early. For a late ride home from further out, Bolt operates in Brașov; our transport guide has typical prices.

Tips

  • Buy the pass early. In 2026 the 350-lei and 400-lei tiers sold out, and the pass ended up at 500 lei.
  • Go to Juno early. Tickets are sold only at the gate, on a first-come basis, and only by card.
  • Book the pub after you buy the jam-session ticket, or you may not get in.
  • Pack a layer. August evenings in Brașov average a low of 13°C (our climate table), and the main stage is outdoors. Afternoon thunderstorms are common in summer.
  • Use the free daytime events at Coresi and WaldKafe if you have children with you or don’t want to pay for all three evenings.

Is it worth it?

Yes, if you like blues. For a small festival, the main stage regularly brings well-known American blues names, often in their first concert in Romania, and the square in the Old Town is an intimate setting. A day ticket at around 200 lei is not cheap by Romanian standards, so look at the line-up before you commit. If jazz and blues aren’t your music, the free events and the city in August are pleasant, but don’t plan a trip around them.
